The Forgotten Child Fund is entirely powered by volunteers, including Chattanooga Firefighters, Hamilton County EMS employees, Hamilton County Sheriff personnel, and members of various volunteer organizations. Every dollar donated goes directly toward our mission: ensuring no child is forgotten on Christmas Day.

The Forgotten Child Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run entirely by dedicated volunteers, including Chattanooga Firefighters, Hamilton County EMS personnel, Hamilton County Sheriff’s employees, and members of various volunteer groups. Every dollar donated directly supports our mission: ensuring no child is forgotten on Christmas Day.

Beyond the holiday season, the organization extends its outreach by providing toys year-round to children affected by disasters. Additionally, through the Coats for Kids program, we distribute over 5,000 coats annually in partnership with volunteer organizations. Last year alone, the Forgotten Child Fund brought the joy of Christmas to more than 13,000 children.

The Santa Train

The Santa Train is a festive procession spanning 3 to 4 miles, featuring fire trucks, police cars, and other first responder vehicles. Departing from Chattanooga State Community College on Christmas Eve, it winds through the city, delivering holiday cheer and gifts to 10 of Chattanooga’s neediest families.

With red and blue lights flashing, sirens blaring, horns sounding, and Christmas carols filling the air, the caravan creates a magical spectacle. Santa himself rides along, waving to onlookers as the holiday spirit spreads throughout the streets.

Each Christmas Eve, we bring joy to 10 families in need across Hamilton County. Through our Coats for Kids program, we also distribute thousands of coats, toboggans, and gloves, keeping children warm during the winter season.
